Social Enterprise

General description

This training is addressed to non-profit and non-governmental organizations, which are interested to initiate social enterprise activities for discernment of their own sources of financial flows. This can be considered a new direction of mission support action.

As a result of the training the participants will:

  • get familiar to concepts and versions of social enterprise;
  •  have the opportunity to evaluate their organization’s readiness for social enterprise activity through some methods;
  • develop, select and evaluate social enterprise ideas for their organization;
  •  gain knowledge and skills in business plan development.

Training Topics and Methods

The training covers the following topics:

  •  What is social enterprise, definitions, ideas and the difference from traditional enterprises.
  •  Reasons, goals, risks and benefits of social enterprise initiative.
  •  Types of social enterprise.
  •  Social enterprise in Armenia, successful examples and lessons learned.
  • Organization’s readiness to start social entrepreneurial activity.
  •  Social enterprise idea development and selection.
  •  Analysis of realistic nature of ideas.
  • Social enterprise business planning.
    • Business plan necessity;
    • Main components of business plan;
    • Marketing plan o Action plan;
    • HR plan o Financial plan;
    • Practical exercises.

The course will be conducted in an interactive way, including presentation, group work, individual tasks and exercises.

Training duration

The duration of open (announced) training is 15 hours; the fee is 32600 AMD per person (without VAT).The cost includes the materials, coffee and lunch breaks. A discount of 10% will be given to each subsequent participant from the same organization. The duration of ordered training is defined according to client needs and preferences. It is possible to order separate parts of the training. The cost for one hour ordered training is 12000-14000 AMD (without VAT).
